The biggest reasons entrepreneurs start their small business is they have a passion, ideas, confidence in the products or services they want provide to their customers. You want to grow your business to make more money, hire employees to carry on the day to day activities.

When I started my business, I had the knowledge, passion, great products and services. I ran my company from the beginning, doing all day to day functions. Then I incorporated my wife to assist in the business as my office secretary. functions including setting up account receivables and payables. I knew the process to operate the business, but she couldn’t read my mind on how and why I wanted it done my way. We had disagreements; I had changed my mind on how to do processes more efficiently but failed to tell her. One day she told me I can have a wife or secretary, but you can’t have both. I opted to have my wife.

What this made me realize is that if I wanted to grow, make more money, hire employees to carry on the day to day activities, I had to have the procedures and processes written for my employees, so they knew how I wanted processes to be completed.

I began by necessity of doing every process, creating a step by step procedure for every process that needed completed.
